MrPictovid began in 2014 with only one goal in mind, sharing videos of trains and model trains with others that may possibly enjoy them. Fast forward to present day and MrPictovid has spread into areas not originally planned on although the vision still remains the same.
Starting in 2020 MrPictovid has produced and distributed (via YouTube and now Facebook as well) Large Scale Live, a monthly live stream focusing on G gauge model trains and the community around it. The show focuses on train shows, events, news and features guests ranging from general G gauge train enthusiasts all the way to manufactures. There’s even a live chat during the show allowing the viewers to interact live with us and the guests.
The videos recorded and produced along with the live stream have continued to help with the positive growth. That growth is what lead to the most recent addition under the MrPictovid umbrella. The Great Lakes Large Scale Train Expo which is a two day in person event focused on large scale trains (G Gauge all the way up to ride on gauges such as 7.5″ gauge). The expo offers those active (or just interested) in large scale the ability to interact with like minded individuals, buy related trains/accessories, see exhibitor/club displays, learn new skills via clinics (including clinics for kids) and more! The event also features hourly door prize drawings, concessions and a modeling contest.
Everything we’ve done has been fueled by passion, creativity, and the joy of connecting with a community that shares the love for trains and model railroading.
We can’t go without giving mention of those who inspired and helped us along the way. Shawn Conahey of Dakman Productions, Heath Hurwitz of Human[c]ity Junction and Stirling Callahan of ravenhawk6910. There are many others that played part in our journey but these three individuals are owed the bulk of the credit.
